Health Care Center & The Laurels   While the Health Care and Rehabilitation Center and The Laurels facilities are located in the original British Home building, they are separate entities. The Health Care Center is just that - health care when we become sick or temporarily disabled. Skilled and intermediate long-term care as well as rehab services are offered. This facility is located in one of the two-storied wings and contains a total of 78 beds, of which 26 are intermediate care beds, in either a private, semi-private, or a 4-bed room, depending upon availability and necessity. Here you are served three meals a day in the Health Care dining room, or if unaable, meals will be servced in your room. The Activity Department offers a diverse range of social programs to meet the wide variety of interests and levels of ability of the residents. Physical and Occupational Therapists are on-site and work with each person as prescribed by their doctor. The Laurels is located in the other two-storied wing and is home for those who require more assistance than offered at The Woodlands but less than what Health Care provides. Here the resident has his/her own room complete with a private bathroom. There are 10 rooms each on the first floor and second floor, and each floor is staffed with a nurse and aides. Each floor also has its own dining area and the Activity Department offers social programs to meet the ability of the residents.     Also here in the original British Home building, located between Health Care and The Laurels, is a new Fitness Center with new equipment and a trainer who will work up a program and set a schedule for your individual requirements and abilities.
